演講者簡介

Jacques Defourny is professor (professeur ordinaire) at the Department of Economics of the University of Liège where he teaches non-profit and cooperative economics, introduction to the social economy and social entrepreneurship, comparative economic systems and a doctoral seminar on the social economy (with M. Nyssens, Catholic University of Louvain).

He holds a BA in economics (University of Liege), a Master’s degree in economics (Catholic University of Louvain), a Master’s degree in public administration (Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y.) and a Ph.D. in economics (University of Liege).

He is the director of the Centre for Social Economy he launched in 1993. At HEC Management School of the University of Liège, he currently leads the setting up of a brand new 2-years Master’s program in Management of Social Enterprises. His work currently focuses on the emergence of social enterprise in Europe, North America and Eastern Asia as well as on conceptual and quantitative analysis of the third sector in developed and developing countries.

From1996, he has been acting as the founding coordinator and then the first president (2002-2010) of the “EMES European Research Network” which gathers 11 university research centres working on social enterprise and the third sector across Europe.www.emes.net
